Epithelial Tissue

Epithelial tissue is one of the four major tissue types (epithelial, muscle, nervous, connective).

 

Function: Lines/covers the external body and inernal cavities; also lines/covers organs.

 

Structure: Cells are tightly packed and exist either as a simple epithelium or as layers. Three classification of cells based on their structure: squamous, cubodial and columnar.
